WMV Sink


MediaLooks WMV Sink is a development component for writing WMV data to ASF files or streaming it to Windows Media Services.

WMV Sink is designed to write digital media files and to perform network broadcasting using the Advanced Systems Format (ASF) and Windows Media Codecs (WMV/WMA).

.WMV files can be used with Sliverlight in a web streaming application.

The object is based MediaLooks' MultiGraph Technology and thus allows seamless switching when used with other MediaLooks' components in various scenarious.

WMV Sink is available with DeckLink SDK, Playout SDK, Multimedia SDK and Vision Mixer SDK.

Possible Uses

  • Network streaming. The WMV Sink component can be used to stream data to a Windows Media Server.
  • Files transcoding to WMV/ASF. When connected to a File Source object, a file transcoding application can be implemented.
  • 24/7 recording. Two WMV Sink objects can be connected to an upstream object and seamless switching can be implemented when writing data to multiple files 24/7.
